Biography

We are looking for new members to add to ISPU’s award-winning board of directors.

Joining ISPU’s board of directors is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds who are committed to building an America where Muslims are thriving and equal through facts and objective research.

The Governance Committee of the Board of Directors of ISPU is inviting recommendations for new members to ISPU’s Board. We’re eagerly looking for candidates who represent the vast diversity of identities and experiences that make up the Muslim community in the United States, as well as non-Muslims who are invested in our work. We are particularly seeking to boost our representation of board members from the Black/African American and Latino communities, as well as those located in the South and West of the US, but are open to all nominations.

Members of ISPU’s Board are expected to participate in regular board and committee meetings, which includes an average of 10 virtual meetings annually (and one in-person retreat typically in October). Board members are also expected to represent ISPU to the wider community, attend ISPU events, and support ISPU’s financial wellbeing by supporting fundraising efforts and donating at a personally appropriate level. To recommend a candidate for the Board of Directors of ISPU, please send the name and a brief biography by email to nominations@ispu.org or fill out this formApplications are due May 30, 2025, though we accept nominations on a rolling basis.
